Productive Plant Propagation Workshop

Learn to propagate productive plants for your garden, and take them home. 

Propagate using a variety of methods:

  • Hardwood cuttings

  • Semi-hardwood cuttings

  • Root cuttings

  • Stolons

  • Layering

  • Seeds - scarification and stratification

Workshop participants get their hands dirty and propagate a number of productive plants such as:

  • Comfrey

  • Rhubarb

  • Fig

  • Elderberry

  • Chilean guava

  • Pineapple sage

  • Mints/herbs

  • Groundcovers/alpine strawberries

  • Lemon verbena

A mix of theory and practical propagation.

Participants will then be able to propagate their own material at home, as well as go home with 20+ propagated plants during the workshop worth $100+.

The course is held on a one acre permaculture property in New Plymouth which has an 8 year old food forest, extensive permaculture gardens, a sub-tropical planting area, stream and 350 year old native bush – Korito Garden.

Half day course – Cost $50 per person

Places are limited to 12. Cost includes morning tea. 

Date: Sunday 25th August, 9am till 12.30pm (half day workshop)
