Pizza Party at Marfell Community Garden

Local students have helped to build a woodfire pizza oven at Marfell Community Garden, and we're going to make the most of it this month!

March is officially Get-To-Know-Your-Neighbours Month for Aotearoa, and there's no better time for a Block Party. Wherever you're from, absolutely all are welcome!

On The House Food Rescue have kindly reserved us enough cheese and pizza-sauce to cook pizzas till sundown!

So, bring the whole whānau down on Saturday 29th, have a forage in the maara and build your dream pizzas!

Music, lawn games & activities will be running all afternoon - stay and eat as long as you like. BYOB

FULL - Kono Weaving Workshop with Karen (KareNZkitz)

3-hour Kono Weaving Class. 

Karen will provide all the harakeke already prepared for 10 people to weave a kono each. 

We start with a Karakia and a Waiata then a discussion and demonstration on how to prepare the whenu – harakeke weaving strips. 

Everyone will learn how to harvest harakeke – Phormium Tenax, (aka NZ Flax), by way of discussion and handouts with diagrams and instructions. 

Participants will have the option to buy the handouts ($5 each) or have them emailed to them for free.
