Nature Cleanup - New Plymouth Local Environment (Litter cleanup, waste minimisation)
Choose a walkway, reserve, the beach or a natural area close to your school, to clean up and take part in the Backyard Biodiversity Challenge.
This cleanup is organised by Wild for Taranaki and Sustainable Taranaki.
BYO gloves and buckets if possible!

Potentially: Coastal Walkway, Te Henui, Huatoki, and/or Herekawe Walkways, Back beach, Ngamotu beach, Barret Domain, Ngamotu Domain.
This event is family and young kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome!
ALL WELCOME! You do NOT need to be “fit” or do the full 2 hours. Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!
No RSVP required! Just show up!
The aim of this event is:
- to clean chosen locations the best we can
- to divert trash from the landfill
- to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling
- to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation
