Nature Cleanup at Ōakura Beach (meeting at the Playground next to Vertigo Surf) - Saturday 6 January 10am - 12pm (it is fine to be late!)
Come and help us clean the beautiful Ōakura Beach!
This cleanup is organised by Taranaki Conservationists and Sustainable Taranaki.
This event is family and young kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome!
ALL WELCOME! You do NOT need to be “fit” or stay for the full 2 hours. Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!
10am (or later) - Meet at the Playground (on Tasman Parade) for a briefing. Look for the Sustainable Taranaki flag!
Bring your own gloves and buckets if possible but we'll provide some if needed!
12pm (or earlier) - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (we will separate all items to divert as much as we can from landfill)
No RSVP required! Just show up!
The aim of this event is:
- to clean this location the best we can
- to divert trash from the landfill
- to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling
- to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation
