Beach Cleanup - Waitara

Beach cleanup at Waitara Beach - Saturday 29 July - 10am

Come and help us clean Waitara Beach!

This cleanup is organised by Taranaki Conservationists, and Sustainable Taranaki and is supported by Bin Inn Waitara.

Every volunteer will double their discount on the same day at Bin Inn Waitara.
10% off if you bring your own containers (instead of the regular 5%)!

This event is family and young kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome!

10am - Meet at Waitara Beach (just after the Holiday Park on West Beach) for a briefing. Bring your own gloves and buckets if possible but we'll provide some if needed!
10:10am - Start of the cleanup!
11:30am - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (recycling and landfill will be separated) and discuss with our two local guests and experts! (See below!)

Local artist Lorella Doherty will take part in the cleanup and discuss her amazing 100 Days of Beach Cleans project.

Dave, the Junction's Zero Waste Educator, will engage will all of us about reducing waste and how we can all do better!

No RSVP required! Just show up!

The aim of this event is:

- to clean this location the best we can
- to divert trash from the landfill
- to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling
- create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation
