Fruit tree pruning workshop including espaliers (half-day workshop)

Learn to prune a variety of productive fruit trees:

  • Apples

  • Pears

  • Plums

  • Citrus

  • Feijoas

Workshop participants will learn about:

  • Equipment

  • Techniques

  • Apical dominance

  • Shapes

  • Timing of pruning

  • What to prune

  • Identifying fruiting buds

  • Tying down

Workshop participants get hands on experience of making pruning cuts, deciding on tree shapes, pruning, and tying down.  You’ll have the confidence to go home and tackle your own trees or start your espalier fenceline

The course is held on a one acre permaculture property in New Plymouth which has an 8 year old food forest, extensive permaculture gardens, a sub-tropical planting area, stream and 350 year old native bush – Korito Garden.

Halft day course – Cost $50 per person

Places are limited to 12. Cost includes morning tea. 

Date: Saturday 24th August, 9am till 12.30pm
