Nature Cleanup - Paritūtū Reserve

After-work Beach cleanup at Paritūtū Reserve (Back Beach) - Tuesday 19 September - 4pm (it is fine to be late!)

Come and help us clean the Paritūtū Reserve and Back Beach!

This cleanup is organised by Taranaki Conservationists and Sustainable Taranaki.

This event is family and young kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome!

4pm (or later) - Meet at the top parking of Paritūtū Reserve (see poster for the location or see on Google Maps here) for a briefing. Bring your own gloves and buckets if possible but we'll provide some if needed!
6:30pm (or earlier) - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (recycling and landfill will be separated) and discuss with Dave, our Zero Waste educator!

Dave, the Junction's Zero Waste Educator, will engage will all of us about reducing waste and how we can all do better!

No RSVP required! Just show up!

The aim of this event is:

- to clean this location the best we can
- to divert trash from the landfill
- to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling
- to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation

Draft management plan for Paritūtū area

NPDC, Ngā Mahanga a Tairi and Ngāti Te Whiti have drafted a management plan for the wider Paritūtū reserve area to improve its environment, biodiversity and visitor experience.

The project partners want to reconnect the community and mana whenua with the reserve and also restore the whenua, which has a rich cultural history.
