Local candidates face the burning questions on climate policy
Will they fiddle about while the planet burns? Or will they and their party take decisive action for your future?
Join us for an evening of political debate at Cafe Green Door on Thursday, 21st September 2023, from 6pm, featuring several of the local Taranaki political candidates addressing the biggest challenge we are facing: climate change. The Taranaki region - with its oil and gas sector and industrial dairy farms - has contributed heavily to New Zealand’s carbon and methane emissions. But we have also tried to be bold with a just transition away from fossil fuels. What vision do our local and aspiring politicians have for our region? Let’s find out together.
Local community group Climate Justice Taranaki is hosting this debate with the aim of creating dialogue while asking the difficult questions of how we can collectively work for systematic change to ensure a future for the next generations.
Doors open from 5pm so come along, grab a bite to eat, order a drink and get involved.
Event organised by Climate Justice Taranaki.
