Invitation to Seedsavers Taranaki Winter Working Bee to refill the Seedbanks.
We will be sorting, cleaning and packaging seed. Some of you will already know how to do this, but some may not: whatever your level of experience all are welcome, along with your questions if you have any. Bring a household sieve if you have one.
If you have seeds you would like to bring along to be sorted, cleaned and packaged for the Seedbanks, that would be great!
It’d be great if you know the seed history, that is, where it came from before you grew it. It’s also useful to know how long you’ve been growing it, and, if applicable, the variety of that particular plant. For example: Koanga , 3 years, Bulls Blood Beetroot. But no problem if you don’t know any or all of that.
All who help are also welcome to take home a packet or 2 or 3 of seed we’ve cleaned and packaged.
The workshop will be from 1:30pm to 4pm, with a shared afternoon tea.
