Raymond’s recycling centre accepts the following:

  • Polystyrene which is sent to a local New Zealand company to be turned into products such as underground pipes.

  • Plastic bottle lids and other recyclable materials from local schools, rest homes, kura kaupapa and other community groups. Raymond’s business is so popular, he even gets people sending bags of bottle lids in the mail from as far as Levin.

  • Green waste collection

Follow his Facebook page for updates and more information about what is collected.

"We are really conscious of everything we do here, but there is always room for improvement. We are made up of a diverse team who work together really well. We’re like a big family. - Raymond

Raymond has a conducive working relationship with local councils and other waste management businesses. As most rural farmers don’t get serviced by the council waste services, Egmont Refuse and Recycling fills that gap by ensuring farmers are able to receive the same refuse and recycling opportunities. They even have a recycling drop off station available to clients outside of business hours. He services the whole of South Taranaki right up to Inglewood.

Raymond’s journey with sustainable waste servicing started in his early adult years when he was introduced to the industry as a rubbish collection officer. His passion for the environment has since grown and now shines through his business practices.  This also includes the native planting he and his team have implemented around the recycling station vicinity to attract birds, absorb carbon and beautify the area.
